Planning Commission to consider proposed town home development

Villages of Island Park

The Mound Planning Commission, as part of its regular meeting being held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as possible thereafter, will continue its consideration of subdivision and land use requests, as well as site development plans, proposed by Inland Development Partners and Turnquist Properties LLC.  Consideration of these requests was set for March 2, 2021 by the Planning Commission at its February 2, 2021 meeting after the public hearing was closed and it was determined that additional information was needed from the applicant.

The subject property is located generally west of the intersection of Wilshire and Tuxedo Boulevards at 4451 Wilshire Boulevard. It involves property commonly referred to as the Turnquist property. The applicants are proposing to construct an 18-unit rental townhouse project consisting of a two-unit building, a three-unit building, two four-unit buildings, and a five-unit building. The project will include one accessible unit. The project will have one access each onto Wilshire Boulevard and Tuxedo Boulevard. These applications being considered include  the Major Subdivision-Preliminary Plat (“Villages of Island Park”), rezoning from B-2 General Business District to R-3 Multiple Family Residential, as well as a Conditional Use Permit for townhouses and a Planned Development Area in the Shoreland Overlay District

Application materials, including the preliminary plat, site plan and perspectives, are available by clicking here.

Written or email comments about the proposed development will be accepted and should be directed to Sarah Smith at 2415 Wilshire Boulevard, Mound, MN 55364.  Email comments can be sent to sarahsmith@cityofmound.com.  Comments or emails received by 11:00 a.m. on February 25, 2021 will be included in the Planning Commission agenda packet.   Comments received after that time will be presented to the Planning Commission at the meeting.   Information submitted will be made part of the public record.

Packet materials for the March 2, 2021 meeting will be posted to the Planning Commission page when available.
