Mayor & Council

The City of Mound is a community legally established under the laws of Minnesota, specifically a Statutory Plan B City. It is governed by a Mayor who serves a two-year term and four Council Members who serve four-year terms. City Council Members serve at large (all consituants vs a ward). City elections coincide with the general elections held in the fall of all even numbered years.

The Mayor and Council Members are responsible for approving operating and capital improvement budgets, employing a City Manager, establishing City regulations and ordinances, maintaining public facilities, and planning the City's future.  

City Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and special meeting workshops are on an as-needed basis and are posted at least three days in advance.
