The City of Mound operates the Mound Volunteer Fire Department. It was established in 1923 to serve the growing community and surrounding areas. 

The City of Mound operates a municipal liquor store called Harbor Wine & Spirits.

The City of Mound contracts with the Orono Police Department for its police services.
