Annual Fish Fry and Dance
The Mound firefighters are gearing up to host the 57th annual
Fish Fry and Dance on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Tickets are on sale now for
$7.00 or $10.00 at the door. Tickets are available at the Public Safety
Building, City Hall, and from the firefighters who will be making their annual
door-to-door ticket sale campaign.

When: Saturday, June 7
Time: Dinner, 3:00 to 8:00, Dance from 9:00 to Midnight
What: Fish dinner and refreshments and music by the JR Michaels Band
Operation Clean Sweep
Operation Clean Sweep begins on May 1st. The Mound Community Service Officer will begin conducting city-wide inspections for public nuicances such as junk vehicles, noxious weeds, house address numbers, and storage problems. The purpose of this annual program is to help keep Mound beautiful. If you would like to report a non-emergency, public nuisance, or storage problem, please call 952-472-0621.
Spirit of The Lakes Festival
The Spirit of The Lakes Festival will take place July 17 through July 19, 2008. This fun-filled, three-day weekend begins with the Kiddie Parade and culminates with a wonderful fireworks display, choreographed to music, reinforcing Mound's reputation as having the best fireworks display on Lake Minnetonka.
YMCA Camp Christmas Tree 50th Anniversary Celebration
Where: Camp Christmas Tree, 6365 Game Farm Road, Mound
When: Sunday, May 18
Time: From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
All past and present Camp Christmas Tree campers, staff,
parents, and friends are invited to help with the celebration. Sing songs
at the All-Camp Program, visit with past camp directors and friends, tour the
camp, and visit the camp store.
Andrews Sisters Trail
LaVerne, Maxene, and Patty, the famous Andrews Sisters, spent most of their youthful summers growing up in Mound. Thanks mainly to the efforts of Tom Rockvam, the City of Mound has dedicated a portion of the Greenway to the Andrews Sisters which is now known as the Andrews Sisters Trail. Phase I of the downtown development project has been completed and construction at the Villas on Lost Lake continues with condominium and retail development. The following photos illustrate some of the new construction, more will follow as construction gains momentum.
