Section 482 – SHOWS AND ENTERTAINMENT - CARNIVALS

482.01 License Required. No person shall give or maintain any show or public entertainment, circus, carnival, game, or concert, or operate any merry-go-round or conduct any show tending to cause an assemblage of people, whether admission be charged or not, without securing a license therefor. Provided, no license shall be necessary for any entertainment given by amateurs, or in which the performers do not receive any pay, or which is given for the benefit of any school, church, or benevolent institution or for any charitable purpose. Any license required by this Section 482 shall be in addition to, and not in lieu of, any license which may be required under Section 450 for any musical concert.

482.05 Application. Application for such license shall be made to the Clerk and shall state the nature of the entertainment, the time, and the place thereof.

482.10 Issuance Fees. The Council shall authorize the issuance of such license if in its opinion the public morals and welfare will not suffer therefrom. The Clerk shall thereupon issue such license on payment of the proper fee according to a fee as established in accordance with the provisions of Section 500 of the City Code. (ORD. 01-2001, 2/25/01)
