Section 210 – BUILDING OFFICIAL

210.01 Establishment of Office of Building Official. The office of Building Official for the City of Mound is hereby established.

210.05 Authority and Duties of Building Official. The Building Official is hereby vested with such authority as may here and elsewhere be conferred upon such office. It shall be the duty of the Building Official to see that Section 300 of this Code is enforced through proper legal channels. The Building Official shall perform all of the statutory duties of a "building official" as those duties are set forth in Chapter 16B of Minnesota Statutes. The Building Official shall attend to all aspects of administration of the City's building code, including the issuance of all building permits, the inspection of all manufactured home installations, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Minnesota Commission of Administration.

210.10 Compensation of Building Official. The salary or compensation of this officer of the City for time actually spent shall be at the discretion of the City Council.

210.15 Appointment of Building Official. The Building Official shall be appointed as provided in Subsection 300.05 of this Code.

210.20 Code Compliance. The Building Official shall enforce Section 300 of this Code and all statutes, codes and ordinances relating to building and zoning, and may achieve enforcement through the issuance of notices, warning tickets, or citations in lieu of arrest or detention. (ORD. #7 - 8-17-87)
